ALBANY, N.Y. -- A local development company is doing their part to help out with Sandy relief efforts.

The Rosenblum Companies held a collection drive at the Port of Albany to fill up on supplies to bring downstate. They collected items like mops, buckets and cleaning supplies to help residents fix up their damaged houses.

In addition, they received eight pallets of paper, baby products, food and toiletries.

"We got inspired by the fact that we were completely spared by everything that went on with Superstorm Sandy and we decided that we want to pay it forward," said Seth Rosenblum, Vice President of the Rosenblum Companies.

"Ya know, in times of grief and natural disaster and economic unrest, it's community that's really our greatest insulator and I think that’s really important that people kind of come together. That’s the only way we can make it. That's the most important thing," said Dylan Turek.

Rosenblum says the supplies will be delivered to the hard hit areas Friday.
