SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- Schenectady Police have arrested the man they say beat a 14-year-old over the weekend.
Alexander Messina, 20, has been charged with assault, gang assault, endangering the welfare of a child and criminal possession of a weapon.
Police say over the weekend, the 14-year-old was beat with a blunt object near Congress and 6th Avenues. The victim is in a medically induced coma. His identity is not being released at this time.
Messina was arraigned and sent to Schenectady County Jail.
