Newburgh police officers save woman's life

NEWBURGH, N.Y. -- City of Newburgh Police officers are credited with saving a woman's life. It happened Thursday around 9:45 a.m. on lower Broadway.

Police say they noticed a woman that appeared to be falling asleep and then became unconscious. According to police, Officer Robert Vasta attempted to wake her but was unsuccessful. Vasta then began CPR with the help of two other officers and a detective. They continued CPR until the ambulance arrived.

The 32-year old woman survived and was taken to the hospital.
