ALBANY, N.Y. -- Putting an official end to the holiday season, the Price Chopper Capital Holiday Lights in the Park came down on Sunday.
The five-week long event wrapped up on Saturday with a charity walk to benefit local food pantries.
All the proceeds from the rest of the season will go to the Police Athletic League, a program that helps underprivileged kids in Albany.
Organizers say this year's display was very well-attended.
“The season has been phenomenal. Our attendance has been up once again. The Capital District has so embraced Lights in the Park. It's such a tradition for so many families in the Capital District and beyond,” said Lenny Ricchiuti, Executive Director of Albany Police Athletic League.
Inmates from the Albany County Correctional Facility helped with the tear down of the display.
