Adam Balkin filed the following report highlighting the coolest and newest apps for your cell phone or mobile device in the twice-weekly segment "App Wrap."
Cycloramic
Just in case your smartphone didn't seem magical enough with all the high-tech stuff it does, there's an app called Cycloramic that allows your phone to spin on its own in order to take perfect 360-degree shots.
To use the app, put your phone, minus its case, down on a nice flat and smooth surface. Hit go and then, using the phone's vibrate feature (how the phone buzzes when it is in silent mode), it spins in a perfect circle. As it's spinning, it captures pictures or video for you. Once it's done, you simply pick it up, and you have a 360-degree shot you can swipe around in. It's not just a gimmick; it actually works well.
There is also a handheld mode for easily capturing 360 degrees.
Cycloramic is an iPhone-only app for 99 cents.
Scratch 2 Go
It's not out until the spring, but we recently got a sneak peak at Ion Audio's Scratch 2 Go setup.
Unlike other DJing apps you may have seen or downloaded on your iPad, Scratch 2 Go comes with two physical turntables, a cross fader and control knobs that suction onto your screen and then work like the real thing. There's a companion app that will come with it, but developers say it should work with other DJing apps as well.
Scratch 2 Go is due out in May for about $40.
