A month after Governor Andrew Cuomo signed the SAFE Act into law, hundreds of gun owners in Fulton County gathered to talk about the new legislation. Erin Vannella has more.

FULTON COUNTY, N.Y. -- A month after Governor Andrew Cuomo signed the SAFE Act into law, hundreds of gun owners in Fulton County gathered to talk about the new legislation.

The meeting was hosted by members of the New York State Rifle and Pistol Association and Assemblyman Marc Butler. People had a chance to ask any questions they may have about the gun law and bring up any concerns.

"People have the right to assembly, free speech and to bear arms,” Oppenheim resident Peter Stone said.

“Do you think the SAFE Act violates your constitutional rights?” we asked.

“Absolutely, I think it does." Stone replied.

State Police, who have headed their own informational sessions, were not on hand for this event. They've created both a hotline and a website with more information about the SAFE Act.
