HYDE PARK, N.Y. -- Town of Hyde Park residents have voted in favor of a multi-million dollar project for the Roosevelt Fire Department.
By a vote of 458 to 249, voters approved a brand new $4.5 million building that will be built for the department.
Firefighters say the current building is not up to code, is falling apart and has been evacuated a number of times because it sits on a flood plain.
Firefighters say they respond to more than one thousand calls a year.
