Gas prices continue to increase

NATIONWIDE -- Gas prices have gone up every day for the past five weeks, but they may finally be close to peaking.

According to the latest Lundberg survey, the national average of a gallon of regular is $3.80, which is up 20 cents over the past two weeks. In the past nine weeks, gas prices have gone up about 54 cents.

Lower crude oil prices and wholesale prices are indicating that gas prices could be close to stabilizing.

Closer to home, drivers in Albany can expect to pay about $3.95 a gallon, which is up four cents in the past week and 33 cents in the past month. That's according to AAA.

Drivers in Pittfield are paying about $3.77 a gallon.
