NEW YORK -- The deadline to register for FEMA assistance after Superstorm Sandy has been extended from Feb. 27 to March 29.FEMA is providing aid for rental assistance, home repairs, personal property losses and other Sandy-related needs not covered by insurance.
The extension also allows for individuals and businesses to apply for lower-interest loans from the Small Business Administration.
People in 13 counties are eligible, including Orange, Sullivan and Ulster.
